ASUS announces Eee Pad MeMO

Advertise

ASUS has officially launched the Eee Pad MeMO at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show. The Eee Pad MeMO is a smaller, 7-inch tablet that will run Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich when it launches in Q2 2012. The full specs:

7.0-inch WXGA IPS display with 1280×800 resolution 1.2GHz Qualcomm 8260 dual-core processor 1GB RAM 16 or 32GB ROM with ASUS Webstorage options 5MP rear camera with HD video capture 1.2MP front facing camera

No word yet on the Eee Pad MeMO pricing and availability, though we expect ASUS won’t price this tablet higher than their Transformer Prime models, which start at $500. The MeMO will likely come in the $350-400 range for the 16GB variant, though ASUS could surprise us by going lower to target the Kindle Fire price point.

The Eee Pad MeMO will be available in the 2nd quarter of 2012. Anyone out there interested in picking one of these up, or will it really depend on the price point?
